It is always a struggle trying to find and get listed on decent directories. There are millions of directories and many that are being created daily. The difficult part is that many times one must search endlessly to find the top directories. Many times people just settle for PR0 directories because they do not want to spend extra time and energy to find good PageRank directories. If you value your site then take the extra effort in promoting your site, do not short change yourself because in the end you will regret it, but it is not something you cannot fix if you have already submitted your link to many low PageRank sites, it won't hurt you because there are great PR0 sites but you want a mixture of different PR numbered sites. Note, PR is not always an indication of a site's traffic, but usually has to do with quality and the unique content that it provides. But if one is able to find a high PR site with great traffic then that would be tremendous. Just make PR0 sites your last resort and try to find PR2 to PR5 or higher ranked directories. A lot of times, the higher the PR, the higher the submission fees. If one does not have the financial resources to obtain a listing on a high PR directory then they can check to see if that directory offers free reciprocal links. Reciprocal links can take time process because directory owners may take months to view and add your listing to their site due to the fact that they are spending all of their time taking care of all the paid submissions first. Sometimes the index page of a directory can have a high PR but the other pages on the site have no PR at all so check the PR of inside pages as well. Many times inside pages do not have any PR or only have PR0 and it is very rare to find directories with inside pages that carry a PR over PR0 so when you do see a high PR site with good inside PR pages then check the pricing and if it is financially obtainable, take it, jump on it!!! It is always wise to search for directories and compare each directory's PageRank and prices because some lower PageRank sites may cost a lot more than directories that are much better, so do not get yourself rippedoff. Also, high PageRank sites are not always more popular or have more traffic than a PR0 site. Page Rank does not always define how much traffic a site gets, so if you do submit to a PR0 site make sure to find out if it gets loads of traffic. I have not mentioned PR1 sites yet but they are okay so if you find many of those, submit to them, just make sure they are well known. PR1 sites and PR0 sites can be good but it usually takes longer for search engines to crawl your link on that directory or site but PR0 and PR1 are fine because each link adds up so you still benefit. Also, the PR of a directory can change at each Google update. Yahoo does not use PageRank because that is Google's brand but Yahoo grades and ranks links simular to Google's algorithms but not exactly the same. Yahoo seems a bit slower to index pages so it is advised to create a site map for your directory but once many or all of your pages are indexed in Yahoo then it is a great search engine to gain traffic from. If you need more, im sure you will need many more, then go out and work. Some people need to submit their link to hundreds of directories before they can be competitive with other sites, so get busy and do it. Remember, when asking for a reciprocal link listing, always link first and let the directory or site you are requesting a linkback from know where or what page you have placed their link on when you are submitting your linking information, because usually they will reject your submission if you do not link back and then you have to start over with the process which could take months for them to even look at your link so be prepared the first time you make a submission.
